Can Negre, an old 17th century farmhouse, was extensively renovated by Josep Maria Jujol to adapt it to the summer residence of its owner, Pere Negre. The undulating shapes, religious symbols and strident colours suggest the rich inner world of the architect. Another of the emblematic houses of the town is the so-called Torre dels ou (Tower of Eggs) by the people of Sant Joan. The officially called Torre de la Creu (Tower of the Cross) is made up of a total of five cylinders of different sizes and heights that make up the perimeter of this summer house. .
The architect, Jujol, maintained a strong friendship and affinity with the people of the town, becoming the municipal architect for the last twenty years of his life.
