Photo memories: the legacy of a living memory

Photomemories: “The legacy of a living memory” is an artistic project that begins in 2022 for the Department of Culture of the City Council of Sant Joan Despí and by the CIiCme collective, formed by photojournalists Montse Casas and Eugènia Ortiz. This exhibition aims to link the past and the present through the exchange between the participants, to build the legacy of a living memory, with shared experiences, memories and anecdotes and with individual reflections and moments of collective debate.
The starting point was the voluntary collaboration of the population over sixty-five years of age through a citizen appeal. The participants contributed their personal photographs to create a story that connects the images with the memories and emotions shared through their oral testimonies. We have given them the floor and made them protagonists.
This is a living project open to the public. People who want to participate and contribute their experiences and memories to Sant Joan Despí can contact the Municipal Archives, a space for the legacy of our city.
