“Atmospheres” exhibition by Katy Pastor

Artist Katy Pastor began the series Atmospheres shortly before the pandemic. Before preparing a project, she starts with notes on paper and then continues with some sketches in color until she is convinced that it is exactly what she wants to capture on canvas.
This series is based on an enveloping aura that maintains subtle dialogues between shapes, textures and colors. In the first works, she has used classic canvas, and for the last ones, natural linen without prior priming that she prepares herself, to maintain and highlight imperfections such as wrinkles, transparencies and other unforeseen events. They are presented without a frame to show them in their natural state.
