Identities. Portraits from the Noblom Collection
From January 23 to March 15, 2026.
Opening: January 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The Noblom Collection brings together a wide and diverse set of works by Catalan artists from the 19th and 20th centuries. The corpus of the collection allows for multiple readings and approaches to aspects of the history of Catalan art from this period, such as, in this case, the portrait genre. The portrait has always been a sign of status, of power, but also of introspection, a reflection of the will to understand and delve deeper into identity and human existence. It has also been a sign of friendship and affection, a fight against oblivion and a reflection of the inherent need in human beings to endure.
Through this exhibition it is possible to see a sample of different ways of conceiving the portrait and at the same time a wide range of Catalan artists who have excelled in this genre and who have not always been recognized as they deserve. A unique opportunity to contemplate works by Antoni Vila Arrufat, Martí Llauradó, García Llort, Galofre Oller, Picarol, Aureli Tolosa, Borrell i Nicolau, Eusebi Arnau, Francesc Domingo, Camps Ribera, Pidelaserra, Grau Sala, Ràfols Casamada… which are not normally accessible to the public.
